Location :

The Shinzen Japanese Garden is located within Fresno's Woodward Region Park. The entrance to the park is located on Audubon Drive, just off of Friant Road.

 

Directions :

For Fresno, Clovis residents located south of the Woodward Park area the best way to the park is to use Freeway 41 North and exit on Friant Road. Turn right on Friant and head north to Audubon,  turn left to park entrance.

 

For those outside the Fresno area :

From the north along Freeway 99 take the Herndon Avenue exit and head east until you reach Freeway 41. Follow directions above once you reach 41.

From the south from Freeway 99, exit Freeway 41. Once on 41 follow directions above to park.

South West Fresno residents may also use Freeway 99 to the 180 Freeway heading east to connect with Freeway 41 North.

Weddings in the Garden

Weddings in the Shinzen Garden may only be held in the grass area at the back of the Garden near the rear gate. The area is shaded by large pines and can contain a maximum of 200 people. The area is backed by attractive wooden fence with a gate suitable for the bride's entry. The fence separates the Garden from a service road and small parking area (several cars only). It would be possible to use this area for recreational vehicle or access for delivery vehicle. Two electrical outlets with a combined capacity of 20 amps are near the fence line.

Fees :  $250 ( first 100 people )

           $500 ( for 101 to 200 people)

Professional Photography
Photographers may take photos in the Japanese Gardens for Weddings and/or for other events such as graduations, family pictures, and Quincineras, etc.  The current charge is $20 for one professional photo / per day / per one hour session. 
 

NOTE:  Effective July 1, 2007, the charge will change to $25 to one professional photo / per day / per one hour session.

Hours of Operation :

From May 1 through September 30, 2001, the Shinzen Garden is open each weekday, Monday through Friday, 5:00 P.M. to dusk. Saturday, Sunday and Holidays the Garden is open from 10:00 A.M. to dusk. October 1 through April 30 open Saturday, Sunday and Holidays 10:00 A.M. to dusk.

Park Entrance Fees :
There is a $3.00 per vehicle charge to enter Woodward Park during the months of February through October. Annual passes for the calendar year are available for $55.00 and provide unlimited entry into the park.
