SUMMARY:Hiroshima and Nagasaki Remembrance Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin Shinzen Garden and the Human Right Coalition of the Central Valley for the 81st Annual Hiroshima & Nagasaki Atomic Bombing Remembrance\, a solemn evening of reflection\, remembrance\, and hope for a more peaceful world. \nEach year\, communities around the globe gather to honor the victims and survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima on August 6\, 1945\, and Nagasaki on August 9\, 1945. These bombings remain the only use of nuclear weapons in armed conflict and continue to serve as a powerful reminder of the devastating human cost of war and the enduring importance of peace. Annual memorial ceremonies in Hiroshima and Nagasaki are dedicated to remembering those who were lost and renewing a commitment to a world free from nuclear weapons. \nThe remembrance ceremony at Shinzen Garden provides an opportunity for our community to gather in a spirit of reflection and unity. Through words of remembrance\, cultural observances\, and moments of quiet contemplation\, we honor the memories of those whose lives were forever changed by the events of August 1945 and recognize the resilience of the hibakusha—the survivors who have dedicated their lives to sharing messages of peace. \n Guests are invited to reflect on the importance of understanding history\, fostering compassion\, and building a future rooted in peace and mutual respect. This annual observance serves not only as a memorial to those who perished\, but also as a call to future generations to preserve the lessons of the past. \nThe event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. We do ask that RSVP.
