Help preserve the beauty of Shinzen Garden and share Japanese culture with generations to come.

A Place Worth Preserving

A peaceful path. A carefully tended tree. A tea ceremony that connects the present with centuries of tradition. Shinzen Garden offers moments of beauty, reflection, and discovery in the heart of Fresno. Your generosity helps ensure those experiences continue.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Garden Care: Help provide the resources needed to preserve trees, landscapes, pathways, and treasured garden spaces.

Cultural Traditions: Support opportunities to experience Japanese tea, arts, and community commemorations.

Education for All Ages: Help sustain workshops, cultural learning, and programs that inspire curiosity and creativity.

Our Year Together

In 2026, Shinzen welcomed families to a Children’s Day celebration with approximately 225 attendees, most of them children. We offered Japanese language, tea, botanical watercolor, writing, photography, and gardening programs. The 41st Annual Toro Nagashi Lantern Ceremony brought our community together in remembrance and reflection. Staff and volunteers continued caring for the Garden throughout the year.

Your Gift Matters

Shinzen Friendship Garden, Inc. serves as nonprofit steward of the Garden, which is owned and operated by the City of Fresno. Charitable gifts help support preservation, educational programs, and cultural experiences. Gifts to this campaign are unrestricted and support organizational priorities where needed most.
