Join us on Sunday, October 25th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM for Art in the Garden, a special event at Shinzen Japanese Garden featuring the incredible talents of local artists from Fresno. Stroll through the peaceful garden pathways as you explore a variety of artistic works, including paintings, photography, sculptures, and more, all inspired by the beauty of nature and the vibrant creativity of our local community.
This event offers visitors a unique opportunity to meet the artists, learn about their creative processes, and purchase original artwork onsite. Whether you’re an art collector, nature lover, or simply looking for a relaxing day in a beautiful setting, Art in the Garden is a perfect way to enjoy both art and nature.

Discover the art and science of pruning Japanese maples in this hands-on workshop led by Steve DaSilva, Certified Aesthetic Pruner. Renowned for their graceful branching structure, delicate foliage, and stunning seasonal color, Japanese maples require thoughtful pruning techniques to maintain their natural beauty and long-term health.
In this engaging class, Steve will demonstrate the principles of aesthetic pruning, a method that works with the tree’s natural growth habit to create balance, enhance form, and reveal the character of each specimen. Participants will learn how to identify branches for removal, improve structure and airflow, and make pruning decisions that support the tree’s health while preserving its elegance.
Whether you have a Japanese maple in your own landscape or simply appreciate the beauty of these iconic trees, this workshop will provide valuable knowledge and practical techniques you can apply at home.

Clark Bonsai Museum Hours
Open Wed-Sun, 10am-4pm*
*When temperatures exceed 95 degrees, the bonsai collection hours are 10am -1pm Wednesday – Sunday. Unfortunately, the bonsai museum will be closed during heavy rains or when air quality is deemed unhealthy for all groups.
Please Clark Bonsai Museum to confirm the museum hours or request an appointment to tour the museum outside of the posted hours.
